Classic Fighters 2005
The First World War Aviation Historical Society (UK) reviewed the Classic Fighters 2005 book and had this to say:
For all who missed it, this souvenir pictorial booklet of the third biennial Classic Fighters Marborough at Omaka Aerodrome, Blenheim, New Zealand over Easter 2005 certainly makes one want to be there for their next spectacular in 2007.
With 104 pages of glorious colour, half of those being full page photographs of the many aircraft taking part from all periods, this attractive booklet manages to record most of the action and atmosphere there, including re-enactments from both world wars. The WW1 flying pictures alone certainly make this worthwhile: the Sopwith Camel, Bristol F2B Fighter, DH2 and DH5 Scouts; a Nieuport 24, Pfalz D.III, Halberstadt D.IV and of course those five Fokker Dr.I triplanes, plus a BE2 under restoration.
The booklet is a labour of love covering everything that displayed, plus the various static displays, and provides a background to those who prepared the event, so it is thoroughly recommended, and an overall good read.
