We've often been asked to produce a large format coffee table book featuring our photos of the World War One aircraft of The Vintage Aviator's collection.
In the past it hasn't been a cost-effective proposition to produce such a book, but in recent years producing high quality, large format books on-demand is now a realistic possibility, with a much more reasonable cost structure.
Thus, we're now happy to re-release 'Wooden Eagles' for those of you who like their aircraft photos a bit bigger than the ones in our smaller guide to the TVAL Collection ('On The Wings Of History').
Printed on high quality, glossy, heavy weight paper, and hard bound, this is a great collection of some of the best photographs from our collection.
This book is:
A4 landscape in format/size
270mm wide x 210 mm high
Full colour throughout
Hard cover and bound
120 pages long with over 60 full page photographs and 180 other photos.
This is not a reference volume, but if you want a book to sit on a table or desk somewhere, with some glorious photographs of some amazing machinery that you can periodically open up and enjoy, then this is a great option.
Below you'll find some example page spreads from the book, which will give you an idea of the size and format of the book. Each spread features some information about the aircraft, three smaller photos of each type, the basic technical specifications of the type, and a full page master photo -- you should be able to see this in the sample spreads below.
Important note: We only keep small stocks of this book on hand, so depending on the number of orders we sometimes have to re-order from the suppliers at short notice. This means it can potentially take anywhere between two to four weeks for your book to arrive after you've ordered it. We appreciate your patience -- it's the only way we've been able to find to produce these books in a cost effective manner.
